Why come to a conference on care and kindness?
Emulating Jesus is a very big challenge. He asks us “to be Jesus” here on earth, to do for God’s children what he has shown us by his example:
- Be there for each other.
- Learn and understand the healing process so that we may help facilitate God’s healing.
- Give comfort and strength to those lost, alone and grieving.
- Allow forgiveness to flow through us, bringing the spirit of Jesus into the lives of those that have been hurt or have hurt us.
- Help guide and direct those who are struggling and lost.
- Greet and welcome those who are lost and alone into the fellowship of Christian spirit and love.
- Offer love and acceptance to a hurting world.
This is a huge calling, but the International Conference on Care and Kindness offers workshops and speakers on all of these issues. Better understanding will give us more confidence to enter into the lives of those around us: our family, friends and associates.
The “Care Conference”
will equip you with many of the tools you need to better walk in “Jesus
footsteps”. The spirit of Jesus Christ will enable you,
guide you and encourage you in the ministry of Care and Kindness.
This issue of the Care Capsule includes some short sketches to provide background on several of the conference speakers. You will also see the general schedule for this year’s three-day event and some detail about the large number of workshops offered. More complete information, including on-line registration, is available from www.careandkindness.org. On the web pages there, you can scan the complete list of speakers and topics, as well as short summaries of the material that will be offered in each workshop and plenary session.
